It’s been a while since I have worked on any projects in Second Life. Mostly due to many other priorities. But I have recently started on one of my biggest projects to date. The Mosque takes up over 7036 Sq. M. and is currently made up of over 400 prims.
The mosque will be made up of 3 main rooms, as well as 3 sub rooms. The 1st room is a community room where guests and Sionnach Isles residents can gather and discuss any variety of topics.
The second room will provide instructional information regarding Islam, it’s roots, beliefs, and misconceptions.
As you pass through the hallway to the prayer room you will find seats in which one would perform Wudu, a spiritual cleansing and preparation. Once you pass the the wudu stations you enter into the expanse of the prayer hall. The prayer hall will be filled with places to sit, and discuss, as well as poses to replicate Salah. There are some editions to the prayer hall that are not part of Islam, but are only meant to be educational. Islam as brought to us by the Prophet Mohammed is the final message of all the prophets (Peace be upon them all), particularly that of Judaism and Christianity. Each one of these chambers are is a dedication to those two faiths that together make up the middle path known as Islam.
Outside you will also notice a few activities that are provided for the residents. One being a balloon ride, as well as a skydiving platform.
Please feel free to stop by in world to watch as the build progresses. (Requires a SL account - They are FREE!!)
This will be a long term ongoing project, if you would like to help contact me (Wallace McAllister) in world, or leave a donation at the tip jar just after the mosque entrance. All donations go to cover the time as well as the land cost for the project.
